“The most mean spirited e-mail were from Christians”. I have had that experience all my life. My sister said I am anti-religious because of that experience, which I disagree. Tell a Christian that, and they of course do not see it that way. So what do Christians have to say about this priest, pastor or bishop making this statement, let’s see:

I was so sad when this man said that being gay is a gift from god i changed the channel. He not have read the bible, or maybe he’s talking about its a gift from Satan. The city of Sodom was destroyed because of the homosexuality by Jesus father,GOD.–Oprah website

and last but not least, the best one:

Unless this is addressed in some way by Oprah herself, I PROMISE that I will never again be watching the Oprah show, just like I will never again be reading Newsweek because of its article which tried to prove that God’s Word approves of homosexuality and that great men of the Bible like Paul and David were gay! Christians need to start standing up for the truth and the Word of God in this country or we won’t have a country that resembles anything that our forefathers (who were all devout Christians by the way) created

I never thought I would say this, but why don’t Christians just take the O’Reilly on this one?

UPDATE:

THE MOST HATEFUL MESSAGES WERE FROM CHRISTIANS THEMSELVES.

In response to this post. You can read the comment I left on her post.

I am Pro-Choice, and I will tell you why.

I am a creation of rape. My father raped my mother. He was lucky to get her pregnant on that first try, because he wanted to be here legally in the States. My mother was legal and he was going to tie her down, of which he did. My mom was raised Catholic and her parents were devout Catholics. She felt like she had no choice but to marry him and keep me. I was an unwanted child, on her behalf. I suffered physical abuse. From belt buckles to leather whips to fist to the branch of a willow tree. Any reason he had, he used and out of three children, I was the only one that got it. He finally stopped when I was 18, when I finally stood up to him.

I had a friend in high school and he was involved in shady stuff, actually I was his crush and he was willing to do anything for me. I put the hit on my father. My sister found out and begged me to call it off, of which I did.

A child that is not wanted is a burden, therefore will find suffering in his/her world.

I told my mom when she told me, “I would have rather you aborted me, then kept me and put me through the ‘childhood’ that you put me through.” I am pro-choice, and I believe everyone should have a choice, because of my experience.

From The Christian Post:

1. Radical Homosexuals Assault Prop 8 Marriage Supporters in California
2. Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin Is Attacked
3. Barack Obama Defames Christianity
4. Colorado Law Criminalizes the Bible – “SB200, a Colorado state bill recently signed into law, criminalizes the Bible. Section 8 of the bill entitled “Publishing of discriminative matter forbidden” makes publishing the Bible illegal because it contains anti-homosexual passages.”
5. Chaplains Fired for Praying in Jesus’ Name – “Chaplains for the State of Virginia are being denied their right to pray in Jesus’ name. Six chaplains were fired for continuing to pray in Jesus’ name.”
6. Religulous the Movie
7. Minnesota University Professor Desecrates Communion – “A Biology Professor from the University of Minnesota, Paul Zachary Myers, recently desecrated a consecrated communion wafer from a Catholic Mass.”
8. ESPN Anchor Dana Jacobson’s “F*** Jesus” Remark – “Speaking at an ESPN corporate event in Atlantic City, N.J., to honor ESPN Radio personalities Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic, Dana Jacobson let go with a steam of vulgar remarks.”
9. Bill Maher Gratuitously Attacks Pope – “Bill Maher, host of the HBO program Real Time, made light of the Pope during his recent visit and the tragic sexual abuse scandal.”
10. Jack Black Musical Video

Do you find this Top 10 list as humorous as I do? Seriously. In regards to the bill that passed in Colorado, SB 08-200 will expand language prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, including transgender status, in housing practices, public accommodation, eligibility for jury service, availability of family planning services, as well as many other areas. It seems like every time there is a bill that is out to prohibt discrimination, the Religious take it as a personal attack. Why? Because it means that they will not be allowed to discriminate, plain and simple.

In regards to the Chaplins in Virginia, here is the True story. The truth about the Minnesota professor is here.

Dana not only apologized but it seems she had a bit too much to drink, now come on!

{January 12, 2009}   To Protect Our Children

I remember when the campaign was on for Proposition 8 the term, “To Protect Our Children” was used a lot, last night watching Milk, it was the same thing back in the 70’s. Heterosexual people tend to always throw the “homosexuals” under the bus when it comes to promiscuity and their beliefs of “moral” misconduct, by this I mean, ALL homosexuals are believed to live that way. So, what if we said the same of ALL heterosexuals? For example:

Gryadon and Robin Drown where sentenced to 29 years in prison for beating nine of their children with pipes, 2-by-4 boards and metal pipes, plastic pipes, plastic spoons and whips. A heavy, three-foot-long metal pipe and a fiberglass segment of a tent pole — long, thin and with a knotted elastic cord dangling from one end. At the time of the arrests, they ranged in age from 6 weeks to 16 years old. The nine kids are now under the care of six different foster homes. Seven children testified during a five-day trial that they were beaten regularly, beginning when they were very young. As each child grew, so did the weapon of beating — starting with spoons or paddles and increasing in severity.

The children never went to school or saw a doctor or a dentist, aside from when the boys were taken to a doctor to be circumcised after they were born. Their father, professing to be Jewish, took the family to attend Temple Beth Sholom in South Salem, where the children experienced their interaction with the outside world.

The children said the beatings would revolve around the moods of their parents. One of the foster parents wrote in a letter to the judge about the shifting blame — how Robyn blamed Graydon, and Graydon blamed God.
