An infant was taken to the hospital, at first glance the hospital workers knew her injuries were of abuse, fortunately the infants grandmother is a nurse and was more than willing to take her in. On the first of this month grandma had to turn her into the Arkansas’s Department of Human Services, see grandma lives with another woman.
On November 5, 2008, Initiative Act No. 1 passed. The act is a law that an individual who is cohabitating outside of a valid marriage may not adopt or be a foster parent of a child less than eighteen years old. The creators of this act, the Arkansas Family Council, wrote it expressly to thwart “the gay agenda.” It affects not only the homosexuals but the heterosexuals as well, but they didn’t care as long as it affected the homosexuals. The mentality? TO PROTECT THE CHILDREN.
In tough economic times, the numbers of abused and neglected children in need of foster care rises. But good times or bad, no movement that would turn away qualified parents and condemn children to a broken foster care system should be considered in the best interest of the child, or TO PROTECT THE CHILD.
What does the governor of that state have to say?
Mike Huckabee, the rumored next republican candidate for presidency didn’t directly answer the question as to how this is in the best interest of children. He went on to state that marriage is for one man and one woman, “traditional marriage”. He believes that children should be raised by one man and one woman.
So, what about those kids now in the system? Who has their best interest in mind?

What does this scripture mean? It is safe to deduce that Jesus’ kingdom is for those who are meek. A meek person is gentle/kind, tenderhearted, patient, and submissive/compliant. Those who are meek forgive, restore others, and make peace.
Would a person referring to Rev. Gene Robinson as the “token” homosexual be a meek person? Would a person stating “no one thought he was a reverend”, be a meek person?
The hot topic for this week was the announcement of Rev. Gene Robinson to give the invocation at the inaugural opening ceremony at the Sunday afternoon concert on the Mall. Run a search on the blogs and you will find lots of opinions on him and how people truly feel about him. I just read one, and what the person wrote reminded me of this bible scripture about the “meek”. The funny thing is, Rick Warren, the “mega church” pastor is quoted as praising Obama for selecting Robinson, saying the president-elect “has again demonstrated his genuine commitment to bringing all Americans of goodwill together in search of common ground. I applaud his desire to be the president of every citizen.” Now, Warren, a “man of cloth” didn’t sit there and preach about the abominations of homosexuality or make a comment about the “Rev.” not really being a “Rev.” yet those that are calling themselves Christians, followers of Jesus, are up in arms.
In Jesus time, he didn’t condemn those that didn’t agree with him. On the other hand the Pharisees would lash out at anyone that offended them. That is what you see today. Those that profess to follow Jesus and take pride in calling themselves CHRISTians are the ones that are quick to lash out when they feel offended. They are quick to condemn people to hell. They are quick to make remarks that really, if analyzed, Jesus would not find impressive in the least bit.
Homosexuals have been killed, spit on, have had their items vandalized, have had their rights taken away, have suffered discrimination and continue to suffer through these types of persecutions, all by CHRISTIANS. Who would you say are the meek?
Examine yourself to see whether you are truly meek.
