{January 22, 2009}   Reverend Gene Robinson

The Washington Post has Sally Quinn interviewing him.

I agree with him on his point that it seems like the fundamentalist worship the bible, and for the most part, just bits and pieces of it. I also agree, the word of God was Jesus and the bible was a testament of this, but this testament was done by men in the flesh, meaning imperfect, and these men also based it on their interpretation.

The bottom line is the following: in the END, no one is going to be standing next to the “homosexual” while he/she is being judged. No one is going to be there to tell God, ‘he/she sinned’ or ‘he/she was exemplary’. In the end, if there will be a “Judgement Day”, there will only be God and the person. So, why can’t the religious zealots accept that?

“Gay Agenda” a terminology that is thrown out all the time in regards to homosexuals. “Gay Agenda” to destroy the Sanctity of Marriage. NO…there is no such thing. The only Gay Agenda is that of equality. That is it. We don’t care what you believe in. We don’t care that you feel we are sinners. We really don’t care that you accept us or not. We just care to have the same equal rights under this NATION. We don’t have an agenda of destroying your church or even entering your church. The leaders of the Church are the ones that came up with this term and their flocks have foolishly fallen for it and listened to it and have allowed themselves to be blinded and in turn become discriminatory on those that they have defined as having an “agenda” against them.

{January 22, 2009}   Glenn Beck on Atheists

Glenn Beck calling atheists “the fringes” of America. This is funny coming from an ex drug addict that recently had bigotry demonstrated against him. That is right, Focus on the Family was stated to have ties with Glenn Beck and Glenn Beck got dumped. They pretty much said his Mormon religion is a false religion and they didn’t want to be affiliated with him. Glenn, your religion is considered a “fringe” within christian circles, you figure you would be tolerant.

This blog followed the whole drama over his affiliation with Focus on the Family.

On another note: His show SUCKS.

The Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has stated that a muslim cleric should apologise for a sermon that he made and is found here. He also stated Australians would not accept any forms of violence against women, adding: “Nor are they acceptable in my view to mainstream Muslim teachings.”

The cleric, Samir Abu Hamza, said in his sermon that it was a man’s right to demand sex from his wife whenever he felt like it. ”If the husband was to ask her for a sexual relationship and she is preparing the bread on the stove, she must leave it and come and respond to her husband, she must respond,” Hamza was quoted as saying. Hamza also said Islamic law allowed men to hit their wives as a last resort but they should not bruise them or make them bleed, the paper reported.

While I was looking for the video I found this reply to the Prime Minister of Australia:

This kid feels that using a small stick, the size of your hand, is ok to hit the wife. How animalistic are these people? Seriously, you might have the “lowest rate of divorce” because you guys also state you can kill your wives, that is why!

What I cannot understand are these people migrating to civilized countries and then trying to act uncivilized on the basis of “religion”. Stay in your own country if you want to act uncivilized.

34th-anniversary-of-roe-vs-wade-by-derek-jacksonThe Associated Press is reporting that tens of thousands of abortion opponents rallied today on the National Mall to mark the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade amid concerns they could face political setbacks under the new president. They had invited him to attend and this was the statement he issued:

While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue, no matter what our views, we are united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, reduce the need for abortion, and support women and families in the choices they make.  He also stated the government “should not intrude on our most private family matters”.

Why is that so hard for people to understand? This is a personal decision and a choice that a woman should have. Those that sit there and rally against abortion should spend their time helping the homes that children sit at waiting to find a family. They should become foster parents and see what that system really is like. They should try to work together with other agencies so as to educate women on prevention rather then trying to take a choice away.
