donaddis-1-1The Christian Post has a post about “Thousands Urging Obama To Uphold Traditional Marriage“. It seems like the National Organization for Marriage mobilized its supporters to e-mail the president, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Harry Reid and state legislators, urging them to uphold DOMA. They have serious reasons as to why they are trying to protect marriage and stated that it does not have to do with bigotry:

Marriage connects a child to both her mom and her dad, giving her the birthright of love and support from her own parents that every child deserves

Meanwhile, another Christian organization, Coral Ridge Ministries, sent out another e-mail because they are concerned about this:

Our new president wants to force Americans to accept homosexuality in the workplace and in the military

Does anyone see the humor when “protecting traditional marriage” is used as a reason to prohibt same sex marriages? Let’s see:

Another pastor, Peter Gomes, from Harvard’s University Memorial Church has this to say, when asked “what would Jesus have to say about same-sex marriages?”

“AND YOUR HETEROSEXUAL MARRIAGE IS NOT ALL THAT GREAT. 50% OF YOUR MARRIAGES END UP IN DIVORCE AND YOUR TELLING ME THAT THIS IS THE MODEL? IF IT IS, THERE ISN’T ALOT OF PEOPLE TAKING IT SERIOUSLY, AND BY THE WAY I HAD A FEW THINGS TO SAY ABOUT DIVORCE.” What did he say about divorce?

Mark 10:11 He answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. 12 And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”

Matthew 19:9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

Matthew 5:32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

Luke 16
18 “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

1 Corinthians 7
10 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband.
11 But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.
12 To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her.
13 And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him.

What I find interesting, is that Jesus directly spoke against divorce according to some of those scriptures quoted. He didn’t against homosexuality. So, I think Christians need to really come up with a better reason instead of hiding behind this. In regards to children, kids from heterosexual families usually go through the divorce situation or are from single parent homes. Let’s not forget the heterosexual parents that lose their kids to the State or just abandon them into adoption. The whole protecting the children is a null point. Just look at how many children have been killed by their own parents, heterosexual parents at that.

Now, in regards to the second quote about protection against discrimination in the workplace…um, we exist and we need to work. Would you rather us collect State funds and not work? Seriously, how ridiculous is that concern? Someone needs to learn to “tolerate” their neighbor if they can’t follow the golden rule of “loving” them.

I have to hand it to Focus on the Family, they sure are demonstrating to ‘forgive and forget’.  They have named Tim Goeglein as their top lobbyist for Washington D.C. Let’s look back at his previous 5 minutes to fame:

In 2001, Goeglien headed the Office of Public Liaison, one of four White House political departments run by Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove.  Since 1985, Goeglein wrote guest columns that appeared on the editorial page of the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel, a home town newspaper. On February 28, 2008 someone notifed the paper that she had found a piece written by Goeglien that was almost word for word in a 1998 article. The paper then did a search on his work and found that at least 20 of the 38 pieces written by Goeglein between 2000 and 2008 had instances of plagiarism.

Boy, it is good to have friends in the right places. Now he gets to go back into the White House and lobby for the Christians, you know, those that should stand for truth.

Here we go again. Dobson is on Beck’s show and they are saying what was being said on the internet is B.S. If that is the case, Beck, your religion is full of LIARS, because the MORMON TIMES was the first that broke the news.

Dobson, you are calling the Underground Apologetics liars too. The statement prepared by your people was as follows:

When contacted Friday, a Focus on the Family worker at the ministry in Colorado Springs, Colo. confirmed that the article had been pulled and read a prepared statement for callers who had called about the Beck article:

“You are correct to note that Mr. Beck is a member of the Mormon church, and that we did not make mention of this fact in our interview with him. We do recognize the deep theological difference between evangelical theology and Mormon theology, and it would have been prudent for us at least to have pointed out these differences. Because of the confusion, we have removed the interview from Citizenlink.”

A-huh, sure. Beck you are being used again. Dobson is just making sure you guys are united against the Atheists. Then when he gets his way, you are going to get kicked to the curb like last time.

Dobson, again, why don’t you follow the bible on mixing yourself with what you are against? Just proving how hypocrisy leads Focus on the Family.

2 Corinthians 6:14 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
