{March 3, 2009}   The Saga Continues

I had posted about a christian student that was suing his college. Well, the saga continues:

Los Angeles City College had half a dozen middle-aged people milling around the campus quad. “God Hates Gays,” their signs read. Nice way to represent Jesus, right? I mean when Jesus was here on earth, he preached “HATRED” and walked around with signs to preach the word.

The suit, filed Feb. 12, has inspired a wave of blog and media commentary. Lopez’s lawyer from the Alliance Defense Fund, co-founded by James Dobson of Focus on the Family, has appeared on the popular Fox News show “The O’Reilly Factor.”

A dozen nasty e-mails winged their way to a Pulitzer Prize-winning New York biographer, who had the singular misfortune of sharing a name and occupation with Lopez’s instructor.

“Some of them threatened my life,” said the New York-based John Matteson, an associate professor of English at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Leave it to the Christians to react in that way. They profess to follow Jesus, but their actions are from Christ like. Threatening and preaching hate…

{February 20, 2009}   Senator Chris Buttars

Ah, a faithful mormon preaching what his God teaches him to preach.

And what was the response of this mormon?

Buttars declined to comment to The Associated Press, but said Friday he would not be issuing an apology.

In a statement released on the Senate Republicans’ blog, Buttars wrote that he will continue to defend traditional marriage.

“I was disappointed to learn of the Utah State Senates censure on February 20, 2009. However, this action will not discourage me from defending marriage from an increasingly vocal and radical segment of the homosexual community.

In recent years, registering opposition to the homosexual agenda has become almost impossible. Political correctness has replaced open and energetic debate. Those who dare to disagree with the homosexual agenda are labeled “haters” and “bigots,” and are censured by their peers.

The media contributes to the problem. Increasingly, individuals with conservative beliefs are targeted by a left leaning media that uses their position of public trust as a bully pulpit. This pattern of intimidation suppresses free speech.

For the record, I do not agree with the censure. I see it as an attempt to shy away from controversy. In particular, I disagree with my removal as Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, since my work there is entirely unrelated to my opposition to the homosexual agenda.

Still, I’m a grown man and I can take my knocks. When it comes right down to it, I would rather be censured for doing what I think is right, than be honored by my colleagues for bowing to the pressure of a special interest group that has been allowed to act with impunity.

Thanks to the many citizens who have written and called to express their support. Please know that I’ll live through this to fight another day. In years to come, we’ll all look back at this point in history and see it as a crossroads. I have no intention of resigning.”

What an appropriate way to demonstrate what your God teaches you, right? I mean, Jesus was about what he said in regards to racisim and homosexuality.
What is interesting is the response by the LDS:

“From the outset, the Church’s position has always been to engage in civil and respectful dialogue on this issue. Senator Buttars does not speak for the Church.”

{February 11, 2009}   The Gay Agenda

Apprently the “gay agenda” is to silence the christians. Why am I always the last to find out what the agenda is? Someone needs to stay ontop of letting all the homosexuals know what the movement is, seriously. The one-hour  ‘special report’ starts as a look at how a group of Christian demonstrators were arrested for, as they tell it, trying to “share the Gospel,” but almost immediately focuses on gay and lesbian Americans’ struggle for equality under the law.

“Special classes of people get special protections”

Here we go, trying to scare the heteros against the homos. Very Christ like, right?  This ‘special report’ is based on the same book that Sally Kern declared helped her find out what the “gay agenda” is. It’s a 1989 book called “After the Ball: How America Will Conquer Its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the 90’s,” by Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen. The video was produced by the American Family Association, and includes testimony from individuals who claim that they were once homosexual but were “cured” through prayer.

Who pushes this “gay agenda” more, the Christians or the ‘homosexuals’? The way the Christians go around bringing light to this agenda makes them the ones that push the issue. The “gay agenda” is nothing more than a scary term started by the religious zealots to scare their flock into hating a minor class of citizens.

Homosexuals are not asking for “special” treatment, they are asking for equality. Special treatment would be: no paying of taxes, not going to work and collecting disability, etc.

I think I am going to have to read that book, and maybe let my other “homosexual” friends know what the book is about, see? Thanks to the religious people, I myself am going to find out what this “gay agenda” is…

The conservative Christian group Focus on the Family claim that,

It is an agenda that they basically set in the late 1980s, in a book called ‘After the Ball,’ where they laid out a six-point plan for how they could transform the beliefs of ordinary Americans with regard to homosexual behavior — in a decade-long time frame…. They admit it privately, but they will not say that publicly. In their private publications, homosexual activists make it very clear that there is an agenda. The six-point agenda that they laid out in 1989 was explicit: Talk about gays and gayness as loudly and as often as possible… Portray gays as victims, not as aggressive challengers… Give homosexual protectors a just cause… Make gays look good… Make the victimizers look bad… Get funds from corporate America..CitizenLink.

{February 5, 2009}   President Obama on religion

“I was not raised in a particularly religious household,” the president said. “I had a father who was born a Muslim but became an atheist, grandparents who were non-practicing Methodists and Baptists, and a mother who was skeptical of organized religion.”

“But no matter what we choose to believe, let us remember that there is no religion whose central tenet is hate,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Christian Post is reporting that the christian right is challenging his pick for top justice positions. One critic, Patrick Trueman, had this to say:

David Ogden has been an activist in the support of a right to pornography, a right of abortion and the rights of homosexuals

Meanwhile, Tom Minnery, a vice president at Focus on the Family, says, “This is left-wing politicization of the Justice Department. This is not a Justice Department that looks like America.” Looks, like which America? The theocratic America?

The challenge to Obama’s Justice picks come as conservative evangelicals seek to limit the power of the new Democratic administration and maintain their own within the Republican Party. They are looking for their best interest and want the government to keep footing the bill on ideals that they promote. The article itself stated this:

Some Republicans believe a tight embrace of social conservative values turns off independents and moderates, but many Christian right leaders resist compromise and contend that, if anything, the GOP has strayed too far from its principles.

President Obama’s message is loud and clear. He doesn’t believe one view is better than the other. He is willing to work with everyone, no matter what the ideal is, but if he wants this to work then the christian leaders are going to have to teach their flock what tolerance is. For eight years our government was ran like a theocratic government. He professed to follow Christ, yet we went to war, murdering and torturing people and the christian right supported him.

It is amazing how they hear the word “equality” but only listen to “homsexuality”. They taint themselves with their dogmas and expect everyone in America to follow their exclusive dogma.

Good luck to the President on this. I don’t see those that profess to follow Christ to actually follow his lead.

{February 4, 2009}   Guilty plea from church shooter

Jim D. Adkisson,  an out-of-work truck driver accused of opening fire on July 27, 2008, at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee will plead guilty to killing two people and wounding six others, his attorney said Wednesday. Police say Adkisson targeted the church because of its liberal open-door policies, including acceptance of gays, and fully expected to keep shooting until responding officers killed him. The Unitarian Universalist church promotes progressive social work, including advocacy of women and gay rights. A four-page letter found in Adkisson’s small SUV suggested he targeted the church, which his former wife once attended, because he hated liberals and gays.

Looking for a video about this, I found this from Fox news:

I guess to Fox news gays and liberals are ok to go after and even kill, because it is not considered a ‘hate crime’.

It seems like support for the LGBT community is considered a radical change to America. When they mentioned the 80 year old grandmother, I did a search. All the Christian blogs had articles on this 80 year old grandmother. This is what I found on the CBN News site:

73-year-old Arlene Elshinnawy was amongst 11 Christians that were arrested and charged under Pennsylvania’s hate crimes law (the Ethnic Intimidation Act), for “preaching the Gospel”. The arrests took place at a homosexual event. Keep in mind, the “homosexual events” are events that are City permitted ($). These people decided that they were going to enter the event and hold up their signs of condemnation and have a guy preaching through a loud bullhorn. To many, this is preaching, to those of us on the other side of the coin, WE DON’T WANT TO HEAR THAT AT AN EVENT THAT WE PAY MONEY TO GET IN. I looked for the incident on youtube and found a “re-creation” video from an organization called “Repent America”, which is the same organization that this grandmother was involved with.

Now, according to the CBN News site, Outfest organizers said that the Repent America protesters were trying to disrupt their event, were name-calling, and were trying to cause a riot. They also stated on this site that the answer of the Outfest organizers as to why the Christians were arrested and not the homosexuals holding the pink angels was: “Because we were given a direct order by the Philly Police Dept. to break our human chain. We obeyed. When they were given a direct order by the Police Dept. to move north on 13th Street, they decided not to.” Which, as you can see on the re-creation video, the Christians chose not to obey the authorities.

I don’t understand why the Christians always dramatize incidents and choose to lie when they state they are followers of Jesus.

If history showed that people were not discriminated against, because of their sexuality, then laws would not have to be set, but that isn’t the case. People have been killed, fired and mistreated, which is why our new President is choosing to enact laws that will make sure everyone is treated equally. Christians making a big deal of this shows that they would much rather discriminate and demonstrate bigotry which is ironic since the bible has specific scriptures on loving your neighbor.

Here is the “Agenda” that is causing such concern.

{January 15, 2009}   A senseless crime

Two men suffered a beating back in September, on Tuesday they awoke to their SUV being set on fire. Police are looking for help investigating the attack. The attackers are described as a white man in his late 30s or early 40s with a long gray ponytail and a white man in his early 20s with short brown hair. I would like to point out, when they got beat up, they didn’t bother reporting it, now that their car got torched, they decided to speak out. It is sad that after a beating, they didn’t even bother reporting it, because they feel like this is something that routinely happens.

The couple have been together 7 years and state they do not hide who they are but they do not flaunt their relationship. What would compel someone to beat someone else? Hatred. Bigotry. Discrimination. All of the above.

This is when I point out to people, why would a “homosexual” choose to be a homosexual when shit like this happens? Christians like to argue this isn’t about biology, but about choice. Who would choose to live a life of torment and fear?

Teaching tolerance is important. Regardless of ones views of “morality” of “Christianity”, tolerance is something that should be taught for the safety of peoples lives. Religious figures should emphasize tolerance. Tolerance should be taught at home. Tolerance should be taught at schools. Tolerance is something that should be made as part of someones education to have a safe environment for everyone in society.

{January 6, 2009}   Christian Comments

From The Christian Post: Daniel Paul Tue Jan 06, 2009 7:41 pm

“Will gays be happy with a legalized union that will provide all the rights of marriage except for the name of marriage?”

Gays hate the true gospel. The one that believes the Bible as written. They will not be happy until they have crushed each and every Bible believing Christian.

Here’s a case and point. We don’t think gays should parent. After all, if gays should be parents then why can’t they have their own kids? If “God made them that way” they why don’t they want to live within the boundries of how they were created? They pick and choose what they want to believe like a pile of play dough when my kids don’t keep the colors separate. It’s just one big mishmash. They don’t even stay within their own logic and then say we’re laughable!!!

Ok, “THE GAY AGENDA” (da, da, daaa!) here at work, by this Christian comment. Most “gays” are spiritual people. Most “gays” aren’t on a mission to destroy Christians, to destroy the bible, or to destroy anything. For the most parts, gays can have their own kids…think about it, moron.

Luke 6:45-The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

{December 4, 2008}   It’s that time of the year…

Cultural fascists invoke ‘diversity’ every December as cover for neutering Christmas—they never choose some other month to practice their multicultural religion. And by the way, who are these people from other religions who hate Christmas? I never met one. It would be more accurate to say that it’s precisely the persons who make this charge who hate Christmas.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue.

From The Catholic Thing The First Freedom:

Popes state that the first freedom, that of religion, is the basic freedom. Other freedoms depend on it. Civil law does not “make” this freedom, but recognizes it as inherent in the human person, whose origin and destiny are not political. Freedom of religion does not mean freedom of “false” religion.

What?! Is this for real?! Catholics really need to be educated. They need to read their bible and they need to really learn what the Constitution is about. This is such an idiotic statement, I don’t even know where to begin with this. What kind of teaching is this? Besides, we are not in a Theocratic government and also, why is this religion so selfish? Instead of trying to strive for peace, they continue to start battles and wars.
