{February 16, 2009}   Christian Student Sues College

There is a lawsuit alleging a teacher discriminated against a students beliefs when he censored a classroom speech on God and marriage. The allegation also inludes a statement that he didn’t get a grade but a statement by the teacher, “ask God what your grade is”. The student also alleges the teacher called him a “fascist bastard” mid-way through his speech last November and refused to let him finish.

The student, Jonathan Lopez, said that midway through his speech, when he quoted a dictionary definition of marriage and recited a pair of Bible verses, professor John Matteson cut him off and would not allow him to finish. Lopez is seeking $5,000 in damages.

Ok, it sounds more like a sermon than a speech. The Dean of the school stated that students were offended by Lopez’s “speech”.

At what point does a Christian realize that if someone is interested in the “word of God” then a church is sought for that message?

2803542810_6243985a63_mThe Los Angeles Times has the deal on Rev. Al Sharpton’s comment, if you haven’t read it by now. Here is a comment that was posted on there:

Oh please, you folks, don’t even bother trying to defend the Mormon church. After the obscene amount of money it shoveled into the anti-gay Prop 8 movement they have no room left on the high road.

Judgment Day:

God: And what’s this about gay marriage you were doing?

Mormon/Christian: Thanks for asking God. I fought my little heart out to keep monogamous, happy, committed gay couples from legal equality. Aren’t you proud of me?

God: How did you think that would help feed the poor, shelter the homeless, or in any way expand compassion, love, and faith?

M/C: Well….I….um….

God: You just don’t get it. How would you feel if someone fought to keep you from committing your life to the person you love? Get out of here.

More people have been slaughtered in the name of religion than for any other single reason. That, my friends, that is true perversion.–Harvey Milk

Anita Bryant was on a crusade against gays. She started the whole “Gay Agenda”. Back in 1977 it was Proposition 6 which was a referendum that would have made it legal to fire schoolteachers for being homosexual and to fire anyone who supported them. The question was, how would they know who was “homosexual”?

I just watched Milk and I cried, I cried more out of anger then out of the tragedy of Harvey Milk being assassinated. I really feel like there has been no change. Throughout the movie I kept hearing the same things that I hear now. As a matter of fact, Rick Warren used one that was used then, “HOMOSEXUALITY IS EQUAL TO PEDOPHILES”. It really seems that in thirty-one years we haven’t made much progress, and the number one reason has to do with RELIGION. It was truly painful to see how much hatred and intolerance still exists in the name of God.

I understand the whole interpretation and the whole stance: IT’S IN THE BIBLE, but I can’t accept that reasoning to take away rights, RIGHTS that should be given to everyone of this country, to every U.S. Citizen.

The worst part: the whole crusade against “homosexuals” is in the name of God, yet LIES are used to scare the people. Again, who is the Father of Liars? John 8:44.

“Homosexual” beaten up by anti-gay-marriage activists, and I am sure you don’t hear the Christians talking about this incident, do you?

{December 31, 2008}   Bye-Bye 2008

What a RELIGIOUS year. I will review the stuff that stood out FOR ME:

LDS $25million to YES on 8

Religion: “If you are a religious person, you understand that once religion takes hold in a society it can’t be stopped.”

Again, religion is a choice, but according to the religious right or zealots, it isn’t. They want to take away choices that every American should have a right to have. CHOICE, why want to take that away from someone? The taliban runs their country like an iron fist. Women do not have a say or a choice. Men don’t have a choice. Children do not have a choice. Is this what Christians want for the U.S.A? Remember, your actions will spurn hatred from a lot of people towards you…meaning, you want to take the rights of people away, based upon a choice that you made, people will react against you.

Christians tend to forget this:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Galatians 5:22)

When they try to overcome a Nation with their beliefs and their views they do not demonstrate any of the “FRUIT OF THE SPIRITS”.

Hopefully 2009 things will change, although, I don’t know.
